My First Prong Ring, I used a stone out of a cuff link that belong to my mother. I only had the one so, why throw it out? eh..
I upcycled it as some jewelers's would call it. One of the prong was a bit shorter, but it did not effect the ring at all. I wonder what my mother would say :) I made this one to fit me. I used Copper wire. I am still a bit scared of the real silver and golds.
Gorgeous ring! i love the amethyst color. Did you do the prongs too? What wire is this, square? I need to get some wire for trying wrapping but I thought Michaels had them ; they don't.
ReplyDeleteThank's Cherie,
ReplyDeleteYes, I made the prongs, One is shorter than the rest :( I used square and half round. I would work with copper first. Mess up alot. look on etsy.
Gorgeous ring, Brenda...you are getting really good at wire-wrapping! Awesome design!
ReplyDeleteBrenda, Wonderful ring!! GREAT job!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the nice comments. I had a couple of slip ups on it, but nothing that would mess with the look. I really love wire sculpting.I would really love to learn how to do silver smithing. I already got a book on it. But that will be in the future.
ReplyDeleteSorry Gals, You all must think I have lost my mind or something. *LOL* The stone is an Onyx, Not Amethyst. I made some corrections above.
ReplyDeleteFantastic Brenda. Your accuracy and attention to detail is amaazing. BTW was just in Michael's earlier this week and they are carrying round, half round and square silver wire, but not copper. It is Beadalon German Style, which according to the package is half-hard.
ReplyDeleteoh cool! I'll have to go check that out. Thanks Marlene
ReplyDeleteI checked out michael's. Not much wire in the roll and being it is silver plated it will wear off. I am going to stick with copper for now. Thanks for the update on the wire.
